Daniel Lomoe

Daniel has been with Bushtops for over four years now and has been a key person in the development of our conservancy. He is qualified as an Environment Management and Community Development Officer and was initially employed with the Laikipia Wildlife Forum. He has been lucky to gain special training through a programme with Chester Zoo, were he was appointed as one of sixteen African rhino monitors. He has also been involved in the research of predators in Laikipia during a study of lion movements. At the age of thirty eight Daniel is married with two boys and a girl. Last year he has worked and studied hard to achieve the KPSG (Kenya Professional Safari Guides) Silver level, and is one of only 300 in whole of Kenya with this qualification. |

Charles Mwaniki

Starting his career as a driver guide in Mombasa in 1985 where he escorted tourists on safari excursions into the Tsavo National Park. In 1992, he transferred to the Mara for what was supposed to be a short stint. He has never returned. Consequently Charles has the most experience of Mara in our team. He has experienced of almost all kinds of conditions and witnessed many memorable sightings, some of which gained as a guide with Johnathon Scotts Big Cat Diaries and working with a well known Kenyan vet, Dr Kashmir, who was conducting voluntary work inoculating cheetah against rabies. Charles is 45 and married with a young boy of three years old. As a Bronze level KPSG and his years of Mara experience he is well suited for your game photo hunting. With his early safari years spent predominately with German speaking guests, he has managed to get a good command of the language. |

Peter Carpenter

Peter is the holder of the silver level certification by the Kenya Professional Safari Guide Association and has a Diploma in Wildlife Management with concentration in Wildlife Conservation and Management, Mammology, Ornithology and Botany. Peter has many years experience as a Safari guide and has worked for the Nairobi National Park where he was involved in Rhino monitoring and surveillance and ecological monitoring. |

Japhet Bashari

As a driver guide in Kenya for over twenty years Japhet comes with a vast experience. Not only of Mara but from the many other parts of the country that he has toured. His is extremely knowledgeable on the peoples of Africa and enjoys sharing his stories with his guests around the camp fire in the evening. In April 2006 he passed his Bronze Level exam for KPSGA and hopes to pass the Silver Level during this coming low season. |

Alex is a Silver level guide of the Kenya Professional Safari guide Association and has over 10 years experience in safari guiding. His specialty is Ornithology and the big cats and he speaks Japanese. Alex started off his career as a tour guide 10 years ago and then went on to do the KPSG bronze level which he gained in 2003. He then went on to learn Japanese and did a course in tour guiding concentrating on birds. Alex joined us in July 2011 and he has already proofed to be a valuable team member. |
