In 1992, he transferred to the Mara for what was supposed to be a short stint. He has never returned. Consequently Charles has the most experience of Mara in our team. He has experienced of almost all kinds of conditions and witnessed many memorable sightings, some of which gained as a guide with Johnathon Scotts Big Cat Diaries and working with a well known Kenyan vet, Dr Kashmir, who was conducting voluntary work inoculating cheetah against rabies.
Charles is 45 and married with a young boy of three years old. As a Bronze level KPSG and his years of Mara experience he is well suited for your game photo hunting. With his early safari years spent predominately with German speaking guests, he has managed to get a good command of the language. |

David Waithaka

|
Field Guide |
David's love for animals started at a young age and his initial training was in Range Management and animal production. After this he worked for over seven years on private games ranches in Laikipia. His hunger for knowledge enrolled him on the Chester Zoo program as one of the sixteen African rhino monitors.
In 2005 he qualified as a Bronze KPSG and during the low season this year he successfully passed the Silver Level exam. Our congratulations go to him for the well deserved reward. During the last month he has been following his desire to learn a foreign language. Asked at a meeting with staff of what is considered his most difficult moment at work ,he replied,"To not be able to explain the details of animal behaviour to his guests". This has motivated him to start German lessons. With a young daughter of two years he always looks forwards to seeing his family after his stint in the bush. |
